‘Be mindful and let things take their natural course, then your mind will become quiet in any surroundings. It will become still like a clear forest pool and all kinds of wonderful and rare animals will come to drink from it. Then you will clearly see the nature of all things in the world. You will see many wonderful and strange things come and go. But you will be still. This is the happiness of the Buddha’ (Ajahn Chah)
Being still does not come naturally. Even when we sleep we move around. Thats why meditation is challenging. The body is always moving and the mind has multiple thoughts going. We also dream.
Practicing stillness and letting things go will change your whole life. It’s works on your subconscious and help bring issues to the surface that need contemplation and possibly change.
You don’t need to be a gifted, or an expert to meditate. Actually, anybody can sit still and focus on their breathing. You can practice silence and stillness anytime. It’s free and the benefits are fantastic. You need patients of course and I would recommend
” The Mind Illuminated” great read and helpful if you won’t to get serious about your meditation.
